The active ingredient in this medicine is cetirizine hydrochloride, which works by blocking the effects of a substance called histamine which occurs naturally in the body and is involved in allergic reactions.
These tablets can be used for the relief of symptoms of hayfever and other allergic conditions (e.g. sneezing, runny or itchy nose) or for skin rashes (chronic nettle rash, idiopathic urticaria) in adults and children over 6 years of age.

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Occasionally some people may experience:
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Drowsiness
- Stomach or intestinal discomfort
Very rarely, these tablets may cause convulsions. If this happens to you, stop taking these tablets and tell your doctor.
If you experience these or any other side effects while taking this medicine seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine:
- if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines
- if you are a patient with renal insufficiency
- if you have problems passing urine (like spinal cord problems or prostate or bladder problems)
- if you are an epileptic patient or a patient at risk of convulsions
- if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby
Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Do not give this medicine to children below the age of 6 years

Do not exceed the recommended dose.
