Vitamin B12 is a water- soluble vitamin which supports red blood cell formation, nerve health, DNA synthesis and energy production. The most common cause of B12 deficiency is pernicious anaemia, where the immune system damages cells found in the stomach and prevents absorption of Vitamin B12. Diet and other conditions like celiac disease and Crohn’s disease can also impair B12 absorption. Symptoms of B12 deficiency vary but may include:
- Fatigue
- Excessive tiredness
- Weakness,
- Poor concentration
- Tingling in hands and feet
- Vision problems
Our blood sample collection kit can help you find out your Vitamin B12 level conveniently from the comfort of your home, helping to inform the need for supplementation. Simply follow the instructions to take the test. Activate your kit before using the prepaid label to return your test to our lab. Once your kit arrives at the lab results will be ready within 2-3 days and can be accessed through your account. If your results show a Vitamin B12 deficiency, we advise you seek advice from our GP or pharmacist before starting any treatment.
