Tetralysal is an antibiotic, which is used to treat acne. Acne appears as blackheads and whiteheads which people often refer to as pimples or spots.
Tetralysal works by attacking a bacterium called P. acnes, one of the important causes of acne. This can reduce infection and inflammation at the sebacious glands in the skin which are responsible for the often painful red spots associated with acne.

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Possible side effects include:

  • Nausea (feeling sick)
  • Abdominal pain
  • Diarrhoea
  • Headache
