A sexually transmitted infection (STI) is a virus, fungus, bacteria or parasite which can be passed through sexual contact. They can be transmitted through vaginal sex, oral sex, anal sex or close genital contact. Using a condom every time you have sex is the only way to protect yourself from an STI.
Many STI’s are asymptomatic, meaning you may not show symptoms but can still transmit the infection to others. Therefore, regular testing and safe sex practices are important for prevention and early detection.
If you suspect you have an STI, our blood sample collection kit can help you determine this conveniently from the comfort of your home. Simply follow the instructions to take the test. Activate your kit before using the prepaid label to return your test to our lab. Once your kit arrives at the lab results will be ready within 2-3 days and can be accessed through your account. If your results show an imbalance, we advise you seek advice from our GP or pharmacist.
What we test:
- Chlamydia
- Gonorrhoea
- Syphilis

It is important to note that most STIs have an incubation period following sexual contact, therefore it is advised to wait at least 14 days from exposure before testing. This test cannot be taken during a females menstrual cycle or if you have urinated within the last 2 hours.
Please note this test can only be used by those over the age of 18. Please read the instruction leaflet carefully before use. Click here for a video guide on how to use out test kits.
