Ovestin cream contains the active ingredient estriol, which is a type of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). After menopause, oestrogen levels decline, and this can cause vaginal problems such as dryness, irritation, painful sex, and recurrent infections. Estradiol is the active ingredient in Ovestin cream and this acts as a substitute for the body’s diminished oestrogen, and can therefore help to relieve these symptoms.
