The active ingredient (which makes the medicine work) is Ibuprofen. It belongs to a group of medicines known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
(NSAIDs). NSAIDs provide relief by changing the body’s response to pain, swelling, and high temperature.
This medicine is used for the relief of:
- Headaches and migraine pain
- Dental pain
- Neuralgia
- Period pain
- Rheumatic, muscular and back pain
- Feverishness and symptoms of cold and flu
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Side effects may be minimised by taking the lowest dose for the shortest time necessary to relieve the symptoms.
You may suffer one of the known side effects of NSAIDs, which inculde:
- bright red stools
- black tarry stools
- vomiting blood or dark particles that look like coffee grounds
If any of the side effects become serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, tell your doctor or pharmacist.

Do not take if you:
- Have (or have had two or more episodes of) a stomach ulcer, perforation or bleeding
- Are allergic to ibuprofen, to any of the ingredients, or to aspirin or other painkillers
- Are taking other NSAID pain killers or aspirin with a daily dose above 75mg
Speak to one of our pharmacists or GP if you:
- Have or have had asthma, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, a stroke, heart, liver, kidney or bowel problems or are dehydrated
- Are a smoker
- Are pregnant
Do not give to children under 12 years.
Children and adolescents between 12 and 18 years:
If the product is required for more than 3 days, or if symptoms worsen a doctor should be consulted.
Adults:
If the product is required for more than 10 days, or if symptoms worsen a doctor should be consulted.
Do not take more medicine than the label tells you to.
Keep out of sight and reach of children.
