Movelat is a mild to moderate topical preparation, used to relieve pain and inflammation and for the symptomatic relief of muscular pain and stiffness, sprains and strains and pain due to rheumatic and non-serious arthritic conditions.
Both of the active ingredients in Movelat (Muscopolysaccharide and Salicylic acid) have non-steroidal anti-inflammatory action, and these are absorbed through the skin to provide relief to joints and muscles.
As this product effects only the local area it is applied to, it can be a good option for those who are unable to take anti-inflammatory medicines orally, for example due to stomach issues.
Like all medicines, Movelat can cause side-effects, although not everybody gets them.
Rarely, Movelat can cause the following in sensitive skin:
- redness
- burning sensation
- a rash
If any of these occur, STOP using the gel and tell your doctor or pharmacist
Do not use Movelat:
- if you are allergic to any of the ingredients of Movelat, or any other non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
- if you have broken skin, infected skin or eczema
- on large areas of skin
- on or near sensitive areas such as the mouth, eyes or ano-genital regions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Movelat:
- if your signs of injury or illness do not improve or get worse
- if you are pregnant or breast-feeding
- if you suffer from asthma
- if you have pre-existing renal/kidney damage
- if you are using any prescribed medicines
