The most common cause of hair loss in men is genetics, with hereditary hair loss or male pattern baldness responsible for 95% of cases. This condition can be inherited from either parent. You might observe similar hair loss patterns among your family members, although your own hair loss may be less, the same, or more severe. Sadly, there is no cure for hereditary hair loss. However, continuous use of Regaine can help prevent and even reverse this type of hair loss.

Like all medicines, this product can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Possible side effects include:
- Headaches (most common)
- Itching
- Slight irritation
- Unwanted hair growth in non-scalp areas (may be a result of not washing your hands after applying the solution)
