Tears are produced in various ways, and they form a tear film over the surface of the eye. The purpose of this film is to provide protection, nourishment and lubrication for the eye. If there is a problem with any of the systems responsible for tear production, this film may be compromised, reducing the benefits to the eye and causing problems such as dry, irritated eyes.
Using eye drops to replace tears is a traditional approach to managing dry eyes. Hycosan Original contains the ingredient Sodium Hyaluronate, a naturally occurring substance which can help restore the tear film.
This product is used to relieve the symptoms of moderately dry eyes and contact lens irritation.

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
In very rare cases adverse reactions like hypersensitivity, burning or excessive tearing have been reported which stop when use is discontinued.
Please note that temporary blurred vision is possible after application of Hycosan Extra due to the viscosity of the eye drops solution.

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed.
Can be used for 6 months after first opening.
Store at room temperature.
