Golden Eye Ointment is usually used to treat bacterial conjunctivitis. It contains the active ingredient chloramphenicol 1%, which stops bacteria from growing and multiplying, controlling the numbers causing the eye infection and helping to relieve your symptoms. The remaining bacteria die or are killed by your body’s immune system.
Golden Eye Ointment is for use in children aged 2 years and over, adults and the elderly.
Any child under 2 years of age with an eye infection should be taken to see a doctor.
