Fluconazole is an antifungal medication used to treat infections caused by various types of fungi, and can be used to prevent Candida infections such as thrush. Fluconazole works by killing the fungus or yeast responsible for the infection. The most common cause of fungal infections is a yeast called Candida.
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Possible side effects include:
- Headaches
- Nausea
- Diarrhoea
- Vomiting
- Rash
- Stomach pain
