Clarityn Allergy 10mg is a one-a-day, non drowsy tablet which provides relief of symptoms that can be triggered by over 150 different airborne allergens such as animal dander, pollen, dust & mould.
The active ingredient (loratadine) works by preventing the effects of natural histamine in the body, which is responsible for causing the symptoms of allergies, such as those associated with hayfever.

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

 

The most commonly reported side effects in adults and children over 12 years are:

  • drowsiness
  • headache
  • increased appetite
  • difficulty sleeping

 

The most commonly reported side effects in children aged from 6 to 12 years are:

  • headache
  • nervousness
  • tiredness

 

Serious side effects which have been rarely reported are difficulty in breathing, and swelling of the face, neck, tongue or throat. If any of these side effects occur, stop taking the tablets and contact your doctor.

If any of these side effects get serious, or you get side effects not listed above, please speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

 

Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

You should speak to your doctor before taking Loratadine if you have liver disease.

If you are scheduled to have any allergy or skin tests, you should not take these tablets for two days before.

You should make sure to mention if you are taking any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
