Betnovate Scalp Application contains the active ingredient betamethasone valerate. It belongs to a group of medicines called steroids (topical corticosteroids) that help to reduce swelling and irritation. It works by blocking the release of chemicals in the body that trigger inflammation, which causes the symptoms of certain scalp conditions, such as psoriasis and dermatitis. Used morning and night initially, this cools the scalp on application and helps to relieve the itching and discomfort associated with these conditions.

Like all medicines, this product can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The most common side effects are caused by an application site irritation and can include a feeling of burning, pain, irritation or itching where the liquid is applied. This should subside, but if it does not speak to your pharmacist.If you experience these or any other side effects while using this product seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed.
