Anbesol Liquid can be used by adults, children and the elderly for the temporary relief of pain caused by recurrent mouth ulcers and denture
irritation.
It contains lidocaine hydrochloride, chlorocresol and cetylpyridinium chloride. Lidocaine hydrochloride is a local anaesthetic which works by stopping the sensation of pain. Chlorocresol and cetylpyridinium chloride kill bacteria.
Anbesol Liquid can also be used in children from 5 months of age to help relieve pain and discomfort associated with teething, when other non-medicinal methods such as massaging of the gums or use of teething rings do not provide necessary relief.
Like all medicines, this product can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Anbesol is a generally well-tolerated medicine with few side effects.
Symptoms of an allergic reaction may include difficulty breathing, dermatitis, or itch. Please note, while rare, you must seek out medical assistance if you experience an allergic reaction.
Please read the patient information leaflet before use.
